dc.description.abstract | The Kajiado County Climate Change Action Plan (CCCAP) is a comprehensive and strategic
roadmap that outlines the county's vision, objectives, and actions to address the challenges and
opportunities posed by climate change. Developed through a participatory process, the CCCAP is
designed to guide the county government, stakeholders, and communities in adapting to climate
change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting sustainable development.
The CCAP begins by providing a thorough analysis of the climate risks and vulnerabilities specific
to Kajiado County. It identifies key sectors, communities, and ecosystems that are most at risk
from climate change impacts. Through this assessment, the plan lays the foundation for targeted
and effective interventions that address the county's unique challenges. The plan emphasizes the
importance of enhancing adaptive capacity to build resilience in the face of climate change. It
outlines strategies and measures to promote sustainable land management practices, protect and
restore ecosystems, and improve water resource management. By integrating climate-smart
practices into agriculture, livestock management, and rangeland conservation, the CCCAP aims to
enhance the resilience of communities and safeguard their livelihoods | en |
